“Breeding & Selling Simmental Bulls for Over 50 Years”

Three-generation farm

Deeg Simmental is a three-generation farm owned and operated by Roger Deeg and Dave Deeg along with Roger’s son Jordan and his family Katie, Dane, Brynn, and Allie.

The mixed cow/calf operation

Deeg Simmental raises 200 Red and Black Simmental and Simmental x Angus cows.

Alongside the cattle operation, a grain operation of 5000 acres of land is utilized and keeps the family busy during the growing and harvest season.

Breeding & Selling Simmental Bulls for Over 50 Years

Each fall their top-of-the-line females are sold in local sales. In the spring, Deeg Simmental sells bulls in their Annual Bull Sale.

Each year we utilize new and progressive genetics to increase our herd’s potential.

Deeg Simmental uses both artificial insemination and embryo programs on the Simmental herd.

At Deeg Simmental, the bottom end steer and heifer calves are followed all the way through to a finished state. The carcass data is utilized to continue improving with the commercial customer in mind.

The kids had an incredibly successful Alberta Wildrose Classic show this past weekend. Their growth and determination this past year has been amazing. Allie was determined to show her calf on her own and she did just that and had the best time. The big kids won many awards in their age division and came home with grand and reserve aggregate. They made new connections, grew old ones, made us shake our heads and smile. They are getting more hooked on this industry and the incredible group of people we get to do things with each time we go. Thank you to the entire committee for organizing and the all the sponsors of the event! ... See MoreSee Less

Our first year as steer show parents has come to an end and we couldn’t be more proud of how the kids worked together, learned multiple lessons and did in the show! The grooming competition was first up and they decided to take it all in and try to learn from some of the top young fitters out there! Dane was recognized as a top helper during the competition and Brynn’s broken arm didn’t stop her from getting in there to help either! Showmanship followed and Dane’s division had some of the absolute best to grab a hold of a halter and a show stick. Brynn preserved with a jumpy steer early on and a broken arm to take the champion junior showman title and earn her first buckle!!Both of their steers were competitive and advanced to the champion purchased steer class! Dane would like to send out a big thank you to Bohrson Marketing and Davis Rairdan for their support and purchasing his steer! Brynn is extremely thankful to CCHMS - Waylon and Brittany Wise for purchasing Chester! And thank you to all the other bidders and buyers for making the sale so great! A big thank you to the High Steaks families for welcoming us in to the club and for all the work you do to make it such a magical weekend for all involved! ... See MoreSee Less
